My laptop is officially dead. Hopefully I'll be getting a new one in the very near future.

Apologies!

Collection of Style: mens fall/winter '10
Warning to those involved: I will be rather schizophrenic in my posting because of the spectrum  I've got to cover, with current spring stuff, fall/winter '10 and resort! Also, finals really do harsh my mellow.

Onwards to fashion land.

Collection of Style: you may or may not know of it, but CoS is essentially the upgrade of H&M under the same branch. With prices starting where H&M's peak, CoS offers higher quality at an increased level of sophistication,  all while still delivering fashion at street level to the masses (wow, I've been blogging about H&M a lot, apologies).

Collection of Style fall/winter '10 men's lookbook:

All in all: rugged, protective, whimsical but very disciplined.
Love: the smoldering, dark neutrals. Quilted, please

The silhouettes are strict and very disciplined with absolutely no embellishments enforcing the importance of fit and fabrication. Protection is the key element in this line, as showcased in the variety of outwear. The proposal of protection also influences the silhouette through the slightest bell/cocoon-like structures in the outwear and trousers. Sort of feels like a little boy dressing up to go out in the snow...except with a twisted fashionable take of corporate America. There is a lack of exuberance in the coloration, but the cool gray-blues are a refreshing departure from relying on all black.

What a lousy, abrupt ending. Apologies! This is my last night of studying for a while, so wish me luck. I've got so much in store for y'all...you don't even understand. Stay tuned! :)

H&M Fall '10

Something a la...déjà vu?
H&M's regurgitation of high-end runway looks stays faithful to its aspirational, fashion followers. Keeping with their moto of reasonably priced fashion, this coming fall/winter, H&M serves up the best from last year. With looks inspired more or less by Balenciaga, Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens, Missoni, and most obviously notably, Chloé.

My opinion...regurgitation? More like reproductions. Fashion incarnates from the runway down to the streets, but I find that these H&M 'regurgitations' are much too literal in their silhouette, make and fabrication; rather on the unoriginal side. On the other hand, it's fantastic that H&M is making the aspirational more accessible. But don't just listen to me, take a look for yourself.

Here's a little peep show at H&M's fall '10 lookbook, I've also lined up similar runway looks in juxtaposition to the H&M proposal of the said looks:
